Many terms those have been used to refer to the syndrome of idiopathic generalized myokymia used.
However, peripheral nerve hyperexcitability (PNH) is recently proposed as the generic term. Myokymiacramp
syndrome is a rare and benign disease consisting of muscular cramps in the limbs and generalized
myokymia. We report a case of myokymia-cramp syndrome with involuntary hand movements and it is a
form of PNH. The patient had undulating muscle movements, abnormal hand posturing and minipolymyoclonic
finger movements. The needle electromyography showed myokymic discharges at rest in all four
limbs.
